<Shining: Foil Stamping Guide by TaechangSangsa> covers basic information about hot stamping to applications and more. It is not only a catalogue introducing over a hundred foils from TaechangSangsa but also an art book that embodies the aesthetic and ambition of the company. <Shining> is designed under the theme of ‘galaxy and star’, associating the shimmer of foil leaves to twinkling stars. Foil stamping produces a special effect by pressing ink and foils on the surface of a variety of materials such as paper, leather, and plastic. However, most of the time, the high price and tricky process hinder designers from getting test prints. Hot stamping can therefore be a tiresome process to go through in terms of choosing the right foils and materials based on the creative vision, especially when executing a complex pattern or design. In Korea, there are not many materials and books dedicated to foil stamping. Due to the lack of information, designers and clients are usually not keen on taking risks when it comes to hot stamping, often ending up using one or two of the most common foils for highlights. There is much more potential in foils using them with offset print, embossing/debossing or mixing and layering multiple foils. <Shining> is designed in 5 sections.  Introduction, Typefaces & Shapes, Color Combination, Art Work and Color Chips of 156 selected foils.
